In the first T20 match of the three-match series played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe batted first and scored 156 for six in the allotted 20 overs.
Pakistan achieved the target of 157 runs for the loss of 4 wickets before 8 balls. Opener Fakhr Zaman (19) and young batsman Haider Ali (7) were all out.
Captain Babar Azam teamed up with veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez for a valuable 80-run partnership. The Pakistani captain was dismissed for 82. His 55-ball innings included nine fours and a six. Hafeez hit 32 off 32 balls. Other prominent batsmen remained on 36 runs.
For Zimbabwe, Mazarabani took two wickets, Chatara and N Grava took one wicket each.
Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the series, the second match will be played tomorrow in Rawalpindi.
