Corona virus has killed 440 more people in Iran

Tehran: The global epidemic of corona virus has killed 440 more people in Iran in the past 24 hours and infected more than 35,000.

According to the news agency Reuters, the total number of newly infected people in the country most affected by the corona virus in the Middle East has reached 35,738.

Authorities have imposed new four-day travel bans on major cities, including Tehran, to curb the rising Corona cases, according to Reuters.

Schools, mosques, shopping centers and restaurants have been closed in most cities since October, according to the news agency.

Reuters quoted Iranian media as saying that due to the increasing number of Corona cases, the Iranian government is going to decide on a 14-day complete closure in the capital Tehran.

Talking to Iranian TV, Iranian Health Minister Seema Sadat Lari said that 8,289 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 628,780.
The first death from the corona virus in Iran was reported on February 19.
Mohammad Zafar Gandhi, head of Iran's Medical Council, has rejected government claims of casualties, saying Iran is reaching "catastrophic death rates".

He said the official death toll was only for registered patients. Iranian Medical Council officials have collected more than three times as much data on field visits, hospitals and cemeteries as the official figures.
The Iranian Medical Council is a non-governmental organization that has the authority to license doctors in Iran.
