Karachi: The 143rd birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, a Pakistani thinker and poet of the East, is being celebrated with national enthusiasm today. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot district of Punjab. Allama Iqbal received his early education in Sialkot and did his matriculation from Mission High School and his FA from Murray College Sialkot. His teacher Maulvi Mir Hassan had a big hand in promoting this hobby. After doing FA, he went to Lahore for higher studies and did BA and MA from Government College Lahore. After doing MA in 1899, Oriental College In 1905, Allama Iqbal went to the United Kingdom for higher education and obtained a law degree, from where he moved to Germany, where he earned a PhD in philosophy.
