Turkey quake death toll rises to 98

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake in the western Turkish city of Izmir has killed at least 98 people. According to a foreign news agency, the death toll from the quake has risen to 98, while 147 people injured in the quake are being treated in hospitals.

Out of 994 people injured in the quake, 847 have been discharged from the hospital while relief operations are underway in Izmir after the quake. Rescue operations are underway in the quake-hit area, and 106 people have so far been rescued from the wreckage. A 7.0-magnitude earthquake shook the western Turkish city of Izmir on October 30.
