ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has fixed the subsidy price of wheat at Rs 1650. Four ministers, including Special Assistant Nadeem Afzal Chan, opposed it. Demanded to fix the price at eighteen hundred rupees.
A meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The situation of wheat was discussed at length in the cabinet meeting.
Nadeem Afzal Chan demanded that the price of wheat be fixed at Rs. 1800. Shabbir Qureshi, Fakhr Imam and Ishrat Hussain supported Nadeem Afzal Chan's demand.
Nadeem Afzal Chan said that if the price of wheat is not increased, there is a danger of shortage. If the farmer suffers, the shortage of wheat may increase.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministers to intensify measures to reduce inflation. He said that the country will not tolerate further inflation, all decisions will be made keeping in view the needs of the citizens.
Imran Khan directed that there should be no crisis of wheat and flour in the country, create facilities for the people. We will not impose any more burden on the people. All decisions will be based on the needs of ordinary citizens.
