Kashmore rape case: Second accused produced in anti-terrorism court

Shikarpur: Kashmore police have produced Khairullah Bugti, another accused in the alleged rape of a mother and daughter in Kashmore district of Sindh, in an anti-terrorism court.

The anti-terrorism court handed over the accused Khairullah Bugti to the police on a three-day physical.

It may be recalled that according to the police, Rafiq Malik, the main accused in the Kashmore rape incident, was shot dead by his co-accused Khairullah Bugti yesterday.

Yesterday, SSP Kashmore, Amjad Malik Sheikh, while confirming the death of the accused, had said that the accused Khairullah Bugti had opened fire indiscriminately on seeing the police party, as a result of which the main accused Rafiq Malik was shot and injured.

According to police, the main accused died on the way to the hospital. Police arrested accused Khairullah Bugti and shifted him to Kashmore police station. The main accused was taken away by the police to identify the accused Khairullah Bugti.

It may be recalled that the raped four-year-old Alisha is undergoing treatment at Larkana Hospital. The condition of the girl is still said to be critical.

Kashmore police had arrested the main accused of raping a 4-year-old girl three days ago at the Sindh-Balochistan border at 109 RD.

In Kashmore, rallies and protests were organized by social organizations and citizens in different cities of the country against the gang rape of a 4-year-old girl and her mother. The protesters had taken notice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and demanded that the accused be hanged in public.

Earlier, the Sindh government had recommended a Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal for the policeman who arrested the accused in the Kashmore rape case and announced a reward of Rs 1 million for his daughter.

Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab had said during a press conference in Karachi that ASI Muhammad Bakhsh, a brave police officer in the Kashmore rape case, had planned and taken action to nab the gang.

Murtaza Wahab said that the daughter of the policeman spoke to the group and Kashmore police took immediate action and arrested the group. We will also recommend giving civilian awards to the daughter of a police officer.

He said that the policeman, realizing the woman's pain, took her to his house and asked her to help him.
