Lahore: (November 03, 2020) On the occasion of Maryam Nawaz's appearance in the accountability court, the District Court issued warrants for the arrest of Capt (retd) Safdar on the issue of fight with the police.
Judicial Magistrate Hafiz Nafees Yousuf heard the case against Capt (retd) Safdar. The prosecution maintained that the accused had been summoned earlier but Captain Safdar and Jahanzeb Awan did not appear. It is requested that warrants be issued against the accused for progress in the trial.
The court issued bailable arrest warrants for the accused including Capt (retd) Safdar and summoned them on December 5.
It may be recalled that a case was registered against Captain (R) Safdar and his accomplices in Islampura police station in 2019 for causing a commotion with police personnel and interfering in the affairs of the government during Maryam Nawaz's appearance in the accountability court.
