ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Allama Iqbal's thoughts are constantly inspiring and providing guidance.

In his message on Allama Iqbal's birthday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Allama Iqbal respected modern scientific, technological progress and human intellect.

He said that Allama Iqbal was a great Sufi poet.

Earlier, on Allama Iqbal's birthday, a grand ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal to change the guards. Pakistan Navy Station Commander Commodore Nematullah Khan attended the function as the chief guest.

Pakistan Navy Station Commander Commodore Nematullah visited Mazar-e-Iqbal and laid flowers.

A well-armed contingent of the Pakistan Navy took over the duties of the guards. Earlier, this responsibility was with Pakistan Rangers.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also visited Mazar-e-Iqbal and laid a wreath. Special Assistant Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was also present on the occasion.

It should be noted that Allama Iqbal's 143rd birth anniversary is being celebrated with enthusiasm today.
