At least 81 people have been killed and more than 1,000 injured in a powerful earthquake in Turkey's third-largest city of Izmir on Friday. Two girls, aged 3 and 14, were rescued from the wreckage two days later. Building debris removal and rescue work continues for a fourth day.

Rescue workers on Monday rescued a 14-year-old girl, Aidel Sherinan, 58 hours later, but unfortunately her 8-year-old sister did not survive.
According to the Turkish state news agency Anadolu, seven hours after the incident, rescue workers pulled a 3-year-old girl out of the wreckage alive. The girl miraculously survived after being buried in the wreckage for 65 hours. The mother and 2 sisters of this lucky girl were rescued two days ago.
According to rescue officials, more than 100 people have been rescued from the rubble so far. Rescue workers are still working, but over time, the chances of survivors are dwindling.
The aftershocks continued on Friday after a series of aftershocks. A magnitude 7.0 earthquake shook western Turkey and the Greek capital, Athens.
