ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan Army stands with Kashmiris and Kashmiris and will continue to support them.

Talking to Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated his commitment to continue supporting Kashmiris, according to a press release issued by the Army Public Relations (ISPR).

According to ISPR, issues of mutual interest, the situation along the LoC and India's illegal occupation of occupied Kashmir were discussed during the meeting.

It may be recalled that last week, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that the Kashmir issue was an important pillar of our foreign policy.

Talking to Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Haq Self-Determination Raja Najabat Hussain, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Kashmir issue is an important pillar of our foreign policy and all Kashmiris have rejected Indian illegal measures.

He had said that atrocities were being perpetrated on Kashmiris by the Indian occupying forces but Pakistan would continue to support Kashmiris till their right to self-determination was achieved.

The meeting discussed the ongoing human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and the situation in the region.

Last week, Pakistan rejected an illegal amendment by India to land ownership laws in occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez had said that India's change in land ownership laws in Kashmir was reprehensible. The change in land ownership in Kashmir is against the resolutions of the Security Council.

He said that the change in land ownership laws was also a violation of bilateral agreements between Pakistan and India. The Kashmir issue is an internationally recognized dispute under international law.
