The second wave of corona virus has intensified in Pakistan and 59 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 7,662.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 2,665 new cases of corona have been reported in the country, bringing the total number of affected people to 374,173.

In Pakistan, 329,828 patients infected with Corona have recovered and 36,683 are undergoing treatment.

The number of corona cases in Islamabad is 26,569, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 44,097, Sindh 162,227, Punjab 114,010, Balochistan 16,744, Azad Kashmir 6,000 and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,526 people have been affected by Corona.

The highest number of deaths due to corona is in Punjab where 2,848 people have lost their lives. 2,816 people have lost their lives in Sindh, 1,325 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 278 in Islamabad, 94 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 161 in Balochistan and 140 in Azad Kashmir.

The second wave of corona virus has started in Pakistan and SOPs will have to be strictly followed to deal with it.

According to the NCOC, the corona epidemic is spreading rapidly in 15 cities across the country. Eighty percent of corona cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.

Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants.

Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks must be worn by those working in government and private sector offices.
