Web Desk - At least eight people were killed and 31 injured in rocket attacks in the central and northern parts of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Saturday morning.
The rocket attacks took place around 9 a.m. in Kabul's Green Zone, where several embassies and offices of international companies are located.
According to the French news agency 'AFP', the spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Interior Tariq Aryan blamed the attacks on the Taliban and said that a total of 23 rockets were fired by the terrorists.
On the other hand, regarding the rocket attacks by the Taliban, it has been said that they do not attack public places.
No militant group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan added that the death toll could rise.
A Kabul police spokesman also confirmed the deaths and injuries in the rocket attacks.
According to reports, a rocket falling in the green zone could not explode.
The Iranian embassy said in a tweet that the main building of the embassy had been affected by the rocket attack. However, no one was injured.
Videos available online after the rocket attacks show that the walls and windows of the buildings were affected by the attacks. A medical complex was also damaged.
At least 50 people have been killed in attacks in Kabul in recent weeks, including two attacks on educational institutions. According to observers, attacks in Kabul are on the rise.
The Afghan government has blamed the Taliban for the attacks. The Taliban have denied any involvement in the attacks.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the Taliban had nothing to do with the attacks in Kabul.
The militant group ISIS has claimed responsibility for terrorist attacks on two educational institutions in Kabul. However, Afghan officials say the Taliban's Haqqani network was involved in the attacks.
